Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

Ph.D for Working Professionals is a doctoral programme that has been specially curated by the university to enable interested working professionals to enrol in and do research in their domain. The degree in their chosen field provides academic enhancement, career progression and spreads research activities with industrial support, collaboration & promotion.

During the programme students are supported by Research Advisory Council for seamless experience and smooth completion go the doctorate. The programme enhances research culture and encourages employed Scientists/ Engineers/ Technocrats/ Teachers/ Industry professionals or Working executives to improve their qualification and contribution towards society with the facility of research at their places along with the industrial collaboration.

Seasoned professionals with corporate expertise, or eager early stage individuals with intellectual curiosity and a desire to conduct research, equally get opportunity to build a career in academia or advance their position to a strategic or consulting level.

Eligibility
  • Educational qualification as per UGC regulation
  • Admissions will be done based on the marks obtained in the Nirwan University Research Entrance Test (NRET) and Personal Interview. NET/GATE/CEED cleared candidates are exempt from NRET.

Admission Process

Application Form

Complete the online Application form and submit the relevant substantiating documents

Entrance Test

Pay the Entrance Exam Fee and appear for Nirwan University Research Entrance Test (NRET). Candidates who have cleared NET/GATE/CEED or any similar national-level test are exempted from the NRET.

Personal Interview

Candidates who have secured 50% in the NRET will be called for a personal interview. A relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed in NRET for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/differently-abled category, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time.

Final Selection

Based on the marks obtained in the NRET and Personal Interview, University will decide on the eligible candidates who will be successfully enrolled into the programme and offer of admission will be communicated through email.

Enrolment Fee

Deposit the Enrolment fee and submit the required Academic documents to receive confirmation of the Candidate Registration (Now called the Research Scholar)

Course Work

Successfully registered candidates receive notification from the University about the commencement of scheduled Course Work classes after depositing the course work fee and semester tuition fee.

Steps in the Research Journey

Course Work exams and declaration of result notified by University

Allotment of Supervisor on the recommendation of Research Board

Research Scholar to submit the his/her research plan (synopsis) to Research cell after the recommendation by University Research Committee (URC)

Monitoring of Research Scholar progress report by URC in every semester

Publication/Conferences/Seminars participation must be done as per UGC guidelines

Pre-Submission of Thesis after the 33 months of Ph.D. registration

Final submission of Thesis to research cell after the recommendation of URC

Ph.D. Viva Voce examination after successful approval by three examiners

Award of Ph.D. Degree on successful performance in Ph.D. Viva Voce
